Why you, now?
Most people focus on explaining what they do and how they do it.
But if you're starting or growing a business, you also need to define your why. Because your value goes beyond your offer. It’s the unique combination of skills and knowledge only YOU bring.
This isn’t just about your existence in the market. It’s about why your expertise matters in this exact moment.
So…why you, right now?
When you can answer that, your positioning becomes clearer, your messaging stays relevant, and you attract the right attention. It’s your strategic advantage.
Consider:
What problems are becoming harder or more urgent for people right now? And why are people turning to you for help with these problems?
What market or cultural shifts make your expertise relevant right now
What makes your perspective or approach different from others in your field?
What combination of experiences shapes the way you work?
Why does this work matter to you on a personal level?
BEAT: Why you, now + how you think
Your beat is the space you work in — and your vision for how it needs to evolve. Like a journalist’s beat, it’s broad enough to explore different angles, but focused enough to give your content structure. It’s the lens through which you examine what’s broken, outdated, or overlooked — and articulate how your industry must change.
AUDIENCE: Who you help
Getting clear on your audience is essential. Start broad, then narrow over time. The more specific you are, the easier it is to create content and offers that meet real needs. Understand how your audience makes decisions, what influences them, and who you want to work with—and who you don’t—to protect your energy and time.
NUANCE: What you notice that others miss
Context is everything. Noticing what others miss—the small details, the common misconceptions, the hidden tensions—lets you tell stories that stand out. These insights give your content depth, showcase your expertise, and give your audience a reason to pay attention. By highlighting what’s often overlooked, you create authentic, relevant, and helpful content.
TRACKS: How people find you and engage with you
Tracks are intentional pathways you create to guide people from discovering you and engaging with you to hiring you. They connect your digital presence, telling a consistent story about who you are, what you do, and how you help.
EXPERIENCE: How your brand feels and shows up
Your brand isn’t just a logo or color palette—it’s everything you do. Your words, actions, and presence shape how people experience you. Every interaction is an opportunity to build trust and connection.
RESONANCE: What’s working and what’s not
You’ll know your positioning and messaging are resonating when your audience engages, responds, and moves toward working with you. Consider both quantitative signals (leads, conversions, engagement) and qualitative feedback (comments, testimonials, conversations).
Who I Am
I grew up in PR agencies, working at the intersection of marketing, PR, content, and business development, helping companies and leaders tell stories that fuel growth. I learned how attention is earned, narratives shape perception, and reputations drive revenue.
Now I bring that experience to the people who need it most: women entrepreneurs. Women own more than 40% of businesses in the U.S. and are launching companies faster than ever—often without access to the strategic marketing and business development knowledge I’ve spent my career building. Sharing my expertise with other women entrepreneurs brings me great joy and a strong sense of purpose.
My goal is simple: to help you get clear on what to say, confident about where to show up, and intentional about how you grow.
